Ingredients
- 2 cups canned chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1/4 cup tahini (sesame paste)
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice

- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3-4 tablespoons water (as needed)
Instructions
- 1. In a food processor, combine the drained chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, olive oil, minced garlic, ground cumin, and salt.
- 2. Pulse the mixture for about 30 seconds until it starts to come together, scraping down the sides as needed.
- 3. While the food processor is running, slowly add water, one tablespoon at a time, until the hummus reaches your desired consistency.
- 4. Taste the hummus and adjust seasoning, adding more salt or lemon juice if desired.
- 5. Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl, drizzle with a little extra olive oil, and serve with fresh vegetables or pita bread.
