Ingredients
- 2 ounces rye whiskey
- 1 sugar cube sugar
- 2 dashes Peychaud's bitters
- 1 dash Angostura bitters
- 1 ounce absinthe
- 1 lemon twist lemon peel garnish
Instructions
- 1. Chill an Old Fashioned glass by filling it with ice water and setting it aside.
- 2. In a mixing glass, muddle the sugar cube with the Peychaud's bitters and Angostura bitters until dissolved.
- 3. Add the rye whiskey to the mixing glass and fill with ice. Stir until well chilled.
- 4. Discard the ice water from the chilled Old Fashioned glass and rinse it with absinthe, swirling to coat the inside. Discard any excess absinthe.
- 5. Strain the chilled rye mixture into the prepared glass and garnish with a lemon twist, expressing the oils over the drink before placing it in.
