Chicken Gyros with Greek Yogurt Sauce

Ingredients
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 medium cucumber, grated
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 4 whole pita breads
- 1 cup chopped lettuce
- 1 cup chopped tomatoes
- 1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled
Instructions
- 1. In a bowl, combine olive oil, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Add chicken breasts and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- 2. While the chicken is marinating, prepare the Greek yogurt sauce by mixing the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Set aside.
- 3. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade and grill for about 6-7 minutes per side, or until fully cooked and internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- 4. Once cooked, let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing it into thin strips.
- 5. To assemble the gyros, place sliced chicken in each pita bread, add chopped lettuce, tomatoes, crumbled feta cheese, and drizzle with Greek yogurt sauce. Serve immediately.
