Creamy Spiced Chicken Thighs with Potato-Onion Gratin

Ingredients
- 4 pieces chicken thighs (bone-in, skin-on)
- 800 grams potatoes
- 1 large onion
- 200 ml heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 0.5 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1.5 teaspoons salt
- 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- 1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F). Peel and thinly slice potatoes and onion.
- 2. Mix cream, half the paprika, cumin, cayenne, garlic powder, 1 tsp salt, and black pepper in a bowl.
- 3. In a greased baking dish, layer half the potatoes, then half the onions. Pour over half the cream mixture.
- 4. Repeat layers with remaining potatoes, onions, and cream mixture.
- 5. Rub chicken thighs with olive oil, remaining paprika, and 0.5 tsp salt. Place on top of the gratin.
- 6. Bake uncovered for 40 minutes until chicken is golden and potatoes are tender.
- 7. Rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
